The Mura Drava Bike project, which incorporates Slovenia (Pomurska and Podravska regions) and Croatia (Međimurska and Varaždinska counties), aims to develop a common touristic product in this border region. The project, whose primary purpose is the development of cycling tourism in the region and supporting the development of service activities, will expand the existing Austrian cycle paths along the Mura and Drava and establish a new cross-border tourist destination on the European touristic map.
The value of the project amounts to €1,799,066.89, excluding VAT, and is co-financed through the IPA Slovenia-Croatia 2007–2013 operative programme. National co-financing is provided by the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Local Self-Government and Regional Policy. Part of the funds are also provided by the project partners.
